Garry Belizaire
Haitian Creole Instructor
Garry Belizaire was born and raised in Haiti. He worked for many years as a professional journalist (radio and newspaper) and took part in the literacy campaign in Haiti from 1988 to 1990; this program aimed to teach one million illiterate Haitians how read and write Haitian Creole. He moved to the United States in 2001 and has been teaching Haitian Creole ever since.

After moving to the United States, Garry decided to attend university and respectively received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Human Services from the University of Massachusetts Boston (2008) and from Northeastern University (2016). Garry is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Policy at Liberty University. Once he completes his PhD, Garry plans to either teach at a local university or create his own nonprofit organization. Of course, he will continue teaching Haitian Creole.
