Course Description
This is a standard class that meets once per week for 8 consecutive weeks: November 26 – January 28. *No class on December 24 and December 31 in recognition of the winter holiday season and New Year's Eve. For students who have completed the High Beginner 2 course or who have some prior experience in the language, this course builds upon basic grammar and focuses on expanding students’ vocabularies and knowledge of phrases. Each lesson will include reading and writing exercises accompanied by listening and speaking topics with special attention to pronunciation. Level: HSK2 / CEFR: A2 Topics: health, weather, the household, people, hobbies Objectives: weather- and health-related vocabulary, descriptive adjectives, "subject + predicate" structure, particles and prepositions, past tense negation using adverbs, verb conjugation indicating the progression of actions Textbook: New Concept Chinese 1, Lessons 31-40
