Course Description
This is a standard class that meets once per week for 8 consecutive weeks: November 5 – January 7. *No class on December 24 and 31 in recognition of the winter holiday season and New Year's Eve. Builds upon the foundation begun in previous level by focusing on dialogue, listening skills, and accent improvement. Short stories and texts will be introduced to improve reading comprehension. Students will learn to distinguish between different verb tenses in relation to describing actions in the past and future. Videos and songs will also be used to improve oral comprehension. Topics: descriptions, hobbies, interests, like/dislikes, food, cooking, media, health, and the body Objectives: infinitive verbs (-er, -ir, -re), the simple past tense, direct and indirect object pronouns, prepositions, expressing likes and dislikes, comparatives and superlatives, telling time, reflexive verbs, the imperfect tense, the simple future tense, adverbs, expressions of time and duration, and interrogatives Textbook: Contacts (8th Edition), Lessons 9-15
